Hydraulic Transom Door

Most Nautical Structures passerelle enclosures are fabricated and classed as a watertight element of the vessel.  As such the hydraulic transom door is typically built as a weathertight closure.  Because of the large variety of transom architecture, there is no such thing as a "standard" door/hinge configuration.  Transom doors can be actuated with powered C-hinges when the shape of the transom allows.  Transoms with a large reverse angle may require a more complex pantographic hinge design. Frequently a transom with modest curvature will be resolved with a Nautical Structures' hydraulic sequenced slide-plate hinge design.  A common method of passerelle deployment is through the aft transom stairway.  In this design the stairs will either hinge open, or be removable to provide an opening for the passerelle to deploy through.  By manufacturing the passerelle's enclosure as a true watertight structure, the naval architect and shipyard is free to be creative in the approach to concealment and door-actuation.  Yet another way Nautical Structures enhances the art of yacht construction.
