Nautical Structures is pleased to announce the most recent addition to its line of exceptional hydraulic yacht davit and crane systems, the FD-880 and the FD-1500 Folding Davits. Initially developed for a sailing yacht manufacturer in New Zealand , the Folding Davit is designed to fold into a very compact space. The original project has the davit stowed in a locker below deck measuring only 78" x 18" x 28" (200 cm x 45cm x 71cm). The davit folds open, standing vertical and then folding open again to deploy a conventional boom. An extending boom located inside of the main boom increases the davit's ultimate reach and houses the hydraulic linear winch system. With the linear winch housed inside the extending boom section, the davit may be operated without concern for two-blocking the cable as the extension is deployed. Currently two capacities are offered: 880-pounds (400-Kg) with a maximum reach of 100" (2.54-meters) and 1500-pounds (680-Kg) with a maximum reach of 175" (4.44-meters). As with all Nautical Structures davit and crane equipment the folding davit is designed to be loaded to its full rated load capacity in any deployed position without restriction.
The Folding Davit is designed as a true yacht davit system, constructed primarily of aluminum materials. The basic finish is bright anodizing, and at the clients option an enhancement of an AwlGRIP painted finish may be applied in a color to suit the vessel. The folding Davit integrates all of the hydraulic actuators, cylinders and lines inside of the structure, protecting these components and providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The davit may be configured to mount inside of a deck locker or similar enclosure, or be mounted in a more conventional on-deck pedestal mounting. Wireless proportional crane controls are a standard feature with this equipment. A low-voltage LED floodlight may be included to enhance night launching operations. The Folding Davit may be supplied with a dedicated hydraulic power unit, or at the client's option may be integrated with the ship's central hydraulic supply. |
