The
MC model mini cranes are among
the finest low profile davit systems that you
can install on board a yacht. They incorporate
features that are the result of years of product
and market research. Extensive load testing
has further ensured that the davit line is conservatively
rated, and reliable in service. All of the many
features of the mini-crane davit systems come
together in an ultra low-profile, high quality,
low maintenance, easy to operate tender handling
system which makes tender handling simple and
easy.
All
Mini-Crane davit systems feature
P.B.A.S. (Pneumatic
Boom Assistance
System), a feature that counter
balances the weight of the davit's boom. This
allows the user to lift the davit's boom into
one of the five available boom positions with
less than five pounds of effort. Once the davit's
boom is positioned in its using position, the
user locks into position with a stainless steel
load pin.
Mini-Crane
davit systems rotate on a typical standpipe
mounting structure. The standard flange angle
is "0" degrees unless otherwise specified
at time of order. the MC-1000 &
1500 davit system rotation utilizes
a ball -bearing thrust bearing, and two roll-bearing
radial load bearings to reduce rotation friction.
All Mini-Cranes can be mounted on a pedestal
structure in lieu of through standpipe, if the
yachts deck structure will allow for this addition
to the above mounts, Nautical Structures offers
these davits with an optional telescoping
standpipe air lift assist for
achieving additional height when in use, without
sacrificing the low feature when stowed.
The
winch systems used in the Mini-Cranes
vary, but all go through a marinization process
to further protect them from the elements. The
DC models use Either 12VDC or 24VDC
electric winches, featuring a three-stage planetary
gear reduction to an aluminum cable drum. All
of the gearing is located inside of a sealed
housing. The 1000-AC & 1500-AC
models feature the Columbia™
electric winch, considered by many to be the
finest winch of its class. The Columbia™
winch is a planetary-gear drive winch, with
its gearing enclosed in an oil-bath gearbox.
Its primary construction is aluminum. The cable
takeup drum is oversized to fit the width of
the davit boom. This helps to prevent cable
fouling. All Mini-Cranes are
rigged with a 3/16" (4.7mm) or 1/4 (6.35mm)
7x19 stainless steel wire rope, terminated with
a solid brass weight and steel safety hook.
Typical cable payout is 21 feet.
The
Mini-Crane is constructed primarily
of aluminum, with secondary structural parts
in 316-L stainless steel. All lufing pins are
stainless steel and bused with high load capacity,
composite ACM™ bushings.
All fasteners are installed with Tef-Gel™
anti corrosion paste applied. The davit system
is hand finished to an exacting standard of
detail; epoxy-primed and faired, epoxy primed
a second time over the fairing, then painted
using Acry Glo-Proline™
by Sherwin Williams™ Two part Urethane
Paint System. The standard color is "off
white" WP02045, unless otherwise specified
at the time of order. The davit system is assembled
onto one of our test foundations and is dynamically
tested. The Mini-Crane davit system is cleaned,
certified and packaged for delivery, an Example
