Nautical Structures’ FD-1100, FD-1600 and FD-1850 Hydraulic Davit Systems represent the current state of the art in integrated davit systems. Available in SWL capacities of 1100, 1600 and 1850-Lbs (500, 725 & 840-Kgs), the Folding Davit may be configured for most tender-handling applications. The davit originaly designed for integration under the deck of a sailing yacht features an three-section folding boom, capable of being fully loaded to its safe working load capacity in any position without restriction. With operational safety being our prime focus, the FD Davit System features our silent operating Hydraulic Linear Winch system, a totally non-fouling winch design. The hydraulic davit is powered by a remotely mounted hydraulic power unit, or may take power from an existing hydraulic system. A pedestal base mount or bearing-platter mount are the most common means of installation. The FD-Davit System is finished to our highest standards. The aluminum structure is chromated and then primed with a two-part epoxy primer. Then the system is faired, and then primed again. The davit is hand sanded, and then moved into our heated finish booth where it is coated with a two-part AwlGRIP urethane spray-applied paint finish in a color of white to match your vessel. The davit system is assembled and then moved onto our dynamic load-testing center where our quality assurance department load tests every davit we produce prior to delivery to the customer.
Deployment Sequence
The images on this page depict the typical deployment of the Folding Davit. The proportional control system allow the crane operator to deploy the davit's two boom section simultaneously. Once the primary boom section is verticle the folding boom and extension section may operate as a conventional crane boom. This davit's boom may be operated in a negative-angle under load, which permits the crane's boom-end to reduce the distance to the waterline. In adverse seas this permits a safer launching and retrieval proceedure as the pendulation-effect of the cable is reduced.
