Extended Car Section

An extended transport-car section provides useful utility in the deployment of a passerelle.  In applications where the passerelle deploys from an aft stairway, the extended car section will move the point of rotation aft to a position where the plank may slew outboard and clear the transom bustle.  This provides the ability to board from the side as well as from the stern.  The extended car section is also a design element that enhances the deployment of the passerelle from the stern of a yacht with fantail architecture.  The extended car may also provide the space necessary to integrate a wheelchair ramp, providing a comfortable transition from a cambered deck to the gangway.
